Johnny 4 released their debut single Born Without on March 28th to very warm critical acclaim.

Formed in 2002 at college in Chichester, Johnny 4 are Luke Albery (vocals), Simon Ball (guitars, vocals), Lee Clarke (bass, and Andrew McKellar (call him Fanny) on drums. Inspired by a diverse set of influences including Django Reinhardt, Iron Maiden and Abba, Johnny 4 produce perfect guitar pop laden with intelligent hooks and sublime harmonies.

In the past couple of years, Johnny 4 have notched up a European tour with Simian and a successful support slot with N.E.R.D. at London's Astoria, plus a string of London dates that set industry tongues wagging. Born Without was soon picking up play on the likes of XFM and Music Choice, along with specialist alternative shows around the country.The single was produced by Mark Waterman (Ride, Elastica, Ash, Babyshambles) and is a calling card for the debut album, due for release in spring/summer 2006.

The band are due to finish recording the album at Parr Street Studios in Liverpool, in and around their tour dates with the Bunnymen and The Cardiacs.
