The creative force behind The Cortez Loop
is 22 year old singer/songwriter Alex Gordon.
The
youngest of three siblings and the product of a socialist father and
French aristocratic mother, Alex grew up on a South-East London council
estate. His musical adventure began at 14 when he formed his first band.
Several support gigs and tours later and on the eve of signing a record
deal, Alex split the band, feeling his vision and songs were being compromised.
And
so was born The Cortez Loop. Influenced by the likes of Neil Young,
The Velvet Underground and Joy Division, The Cortez Loop have been compared
to The Clash and Doves among others.
The
debut ep "Home of the Blind" is a dynamic showcase for the
band's eclectic repertoire and was produced by Alex with Jan "Stan"
Kybert (Oasis, Massive Attack, Paul Weller, Bjork).
Watch
out for their electric live performance somewhere near you soon.
