Formed in Leeds five years ago, by the end
of 2002 Mama Scuba were no strangers to the independent charts.
Their
first two singles got plenty of radio coverage including a Steve Lamacq
Record of the Week, and charted at #24 and #21 in the independent singles
chart.
They've
since been concentrating on writing songs and recording their debut
album. 2004 saw them putting the finishing touches to the album and
playing live around Leeds and in London.
Released
on 21st
March 2005, "You're
a long time dead, so what's the hurry?" is well worth the wait.
It features the two indie hits plus a host of possible future hits including
the Zane Lowe 'Fresh Meat'-winning El Shake, which is available
exclusively from iTunes from April 4th.
It's
already attracted rave reviews and is an early contender for album of
the year.
You'll
be seeing more of this lot…………stay tuned.
