In addition to developing artists Redemption has close ties with BAFTA
and the British Film Industry. Working with directors and/or music siupervisors
we help select and clear music for film.
Being a label also allows us to produce and market soundtrack albums, the
first of which was Mean Machine.
A remake of the 70s' Burt Reynolds prison movie, Ska Films' Mean Machine
was a box-office smash when released on Boxing Day 2001.
Chronologically
the follow-up to Ska's "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" and "Snatch",
the film marks Vinnie Jones' third starring role for Guy Ritchie and Matthew
Vaughn's company.
Sometimes touching and often amusing the film follows the tribulations of
Vinnie's character, a disgraced England footballer who, while incarcerated,
is involved in a climactic football match between inmates and screws.
The soundtrack
album is a great listen, whether you've seen the film or not, and its fluctuating
moods work extremely well in the film.
